What Does She Want?

Every day Ms. R's teacher posts an "as to" equation on the board. For instance:
white:black::night:__________
up:down::right:________
front:behind::slow:___________
Most of them, I totally get.
However, the on Friday has me TOTALLY puzzled.
1:3::2:_______
is the answer 6 or 5 or ... something else?
These kids are in the third month of kindergarten, they don't know multiplying and division for a couple more months. So ... what is the answer. I'm totally befuddled.

KRISTA - I just read my blog. I don't think I can mention the missed out on NASCAR tickets to my husband - he will be sooooo sad! I can't believe I didn't check it sooner. aaarrrrgggggghhhhhhh

Where do you live?? We are off of Beach and N. Tarrant Parkway in North Fort Worth (mailing address says Keller)

For future reference, my husband and son (Jacob) would LOVE LOVE LOVE to attend anything NASCAR - so if your dear hubby has any future opportunities (track side, behind the scenes, race tickets, etc etc.) PLEASE do think of us in the future!!!

I wonder how close we live to each other?? The Thomas was in Rusk - about an hour + from Tyler. We know he comes to Grapevine, but we decided we needed a road trip to see a little more of Texas. And Yes - the pumpkin patch was Flower Mound - Jacob's preschool class went there. Gotta love the place!

I know you do TONS of stuff - you need to tell me what to do and where to go etc etc.

My guess on the teachers answer would be 4.

yes baffling! at first I thought it was saying 1,2,3 and I was going to tell you that the opposite of counting up would be counting down 3,2,1. But then I re read it and yes i would have to say the answer is 4.

but why 4?
I don't get it.
Just because you're skipping one?

I'd have to say 4 as well, ans yes because they are skipping one. If I am wrong, don't tell me=)

I'm guessing it's 4 too

I think 4 because
1:3 = odd number:odd number
2:4 = even number:even number

or

both would be adding 2 to get the answer.
